Ana Felix, activist and member of the collective, said that, given the evident deterioration of the space, they sent a letter to the Directorate of Commercial Regulation of the Municipality, requesting a thorough inspection of the Parque Central .
The activist pointed out that, in spite of the fees paid by the numerous street and local merchants present in the park, there is no corresponding investment in the maintenance and improvement of the facilities.
“What calls our attention is the deterioration of the facilities and we do not see anywhere that there are modifications, that they clean, paint, fix the areas. At least the areas where these stalls are located, and as a result of this, we are concerned about what is happening if we know that too many resources are coming in,” she said.
The activist pointed out that the merchants pay considerable fees for the occupation of spaces in the parquecentral, as they operate from Thursday to Sunday in this place.
She mentioned that the purpose of the review in this place is to verify that they are complying with the regulations, since the main priority is to improve and guarantee that the animals have a decent place to live.
