In a private event, federal authorities led an Act of Acknowledgement of Responsibility and Public Apology for case 13377, known as the “Campo Algodonero” case.

The event was led by the Undersecretary for Human Rights, Population and Migration, Felix Arturo Medina Padilla and Joel Hernandez Garcia, Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairsand Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the morning, in the facilities of the Administrative Unit “José María Morelos y Pavón”, known as Pueblito Mexicano, the Amicable Settlement Agreement was signed forthe background report, which was done behindclosed doors.
Afterwards, an Act of Recognition of International Responsibility and Public Apologywas held at the Campo Algodonero Memorial, where the State Attorney General, César Jauregui Moreno, gave a speech to the families of thevictims.
A bronze plaque was also unveiled in commemoration of the victims of the case “Missing and murdered girls and young women in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua”, corresponding to Case 13377 Silvia Elena Rivera Morales and others.
Likewise, Julia Caldera Chávez, mother of María Elena Chávez Caldera, one of the victims, alsohad the opportunity to say a few words in memory of her daughter and all the young women who lost their lives in such tragic circumstances.
