Six migrants were affected in the shooting: two of them lost their lives and four more were injured, who accused the Army elements of having perpetrated the attack, according to unofficial reports, at the moment of being rescued by police agents.
According to information from the Secretary of State Public Security (SSPE), the migrants were found in a Ford Expediton vehicle in cherry color, where a man was injured in the front passenger seat and another man in the back, but without vital signs.
Three injured men were also found at the scene, and one more was found dead under the vehicle. The injured men said they were migrants and that the shots were fired while in pursuit.
Paramedics from the CRUM and the Red Cross, along with personnel from the State Investigation Agency, arrived at the scene to provide medical attention to the injured.
In this regard, last night the National Guard disassociated itself from the facts, indicating through a communiqué that “there is no information on the matter. The information is being corroborated and for the moment both personnel of the Mexican Army and the National Guard are disassociating themselves from the alleged aggression against migrants”.
However, this Tuesday morning, personnel from the Secretary of National Defense (SEDENA) handed over to the State Attorney General’s Office the weapons of a platoon that was allegedly involved in the attack.
Military personnel from the Ninth Regiment went to the State Attorney General’s Office Northern Zone to deliver at least 12 assault rifles, magazines and ammunition. It also transpired that the platoon is not identified, but that the elements will also be handed over to the corresponding authorities.
One of the versions that has been circulating is that the two dead were one of the migrants and the alleged smuggler who was going to cross them.
According to the information provided by the SSPE to this media, there are four injured people: a man from Honduras, who has two wounds on his left leg; a man from Guatemala, who has a wound on his right leg; a man from Guatemala, who has a wound on his left calf and another man also from Guatemala with injuries on his arms and legs.
As well as two more lifeless men, whose identity and origin was not revealed.
